WHAT WE OFFER

At Body Space Fitness, we've got over 4,000 square feet of open space, filled with the best in functional training gear. Kettlebells, medicine balls, suspension trainers (e.g. TRX), top-of-the-line power racks, multi-purpose cable machines, and more aid us in bringing functional training to the forefront of fitness.

Our 65-foot strip of indoor turf is kinder on your joints than a treadmill, and ideal for developing real strength, power, and endurance.

Body Space Assessment

To track your progress, we need to assess where you are now. Our assessment is mandatory, and it’s thorough. Depending on what’s appropriate, it might include:

  • Setting goals for your body.
  • Reviewing your lifestyle. What makes sense for how you work and play?
  • Taking cardiovascular measurements, including:
    • Resting Heart Rate
    • Blood Pressure
    • V02 max
  • Body Mass Index (BMI) and Body Fat %.
  • Performing a Functional Movement Screen—surprisingly useful.  
  • Making postural assessments, and additional movement screens
  • Other goals as appropriate.


Semi-Private Training

Look around. Education, athletics, problem solving, even day care and chemotherapy: all are proven more effective in small groups. Why? Because small groups allow you to tap into resources that aren’t available when you go it alone.

The same holds true for training. At Body Space, semi-private training is like private training… with additional benefits. The “plus” adds accountability, social support, energy, and teamwork.

Private Training

Sometimes—particularly for those new to training—you need one-on-one instruction until you are confident with the new demands on your body. This specialized attention helps you gain an in-depth understanding of how your body moves—and demystifies popular myths.

Group Classes

Body Camp. Not your ordinary boot camp! Mindful circuit training in a group setting (no more than 10 people) with uniquely individualized attention. In just one hour you can improve your mobility, strength, endurance, and attitude towards fitness in general through a variety of modalities – kettlebells, TRX, bands, sandbags, ropes, and more!

Yoga. Develop your breath, body, mind connection in this combination of Vinyasa, Yin, and Eischen's Yoga class. Focus is on alignment, breath work, core integrity, and flexibility. Strengthen as you stretch. Find comfort in your body. Learn technical skills for poses. Open level offers something for all practitioners from beginner to advanced.

Mommy Camp. Hot Mama! Mommy Camp is a comprehensive fitness program designed for new and expectant mothers. Focus on strengthening the pelvic floor muscles, core stabilization, and toning the upper body. Training creates a stronger pre-delivery body and helps participants to regain their pre-pregnancy bodies.


Training for Warriors

This intense 8 week challenge will push your limits in exercise, diet, and mental toughness. The TFW system is brought to us through expert sports coach Martin Rooney from his numerous years experience working with combat and team sports athletes. Not for the weak or weary! TFW is made for competitive athletes or those who want to seriously advance in their training. Our Body Space Fitness TFW Certified Coaches will safely instruct you through metabolic challenges, strength work, and provide cutting edge techniques to keep you at your best. The TFW program is for those with a base knowledge of strength training and with full clearance of any existing injuries. Base Physical Therapy, PLLC was established with a mission to provide both highly individualized and highly effective rehabilitation.Uniquely attentive to each client's needs, Base PT offers physical therapy in a way that both informs the patient and enables them to heal more fully and functionally.

About Nina Figueroa, PT, DPT:
With a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from The George Washington University and extensive experience at premier performance-based NYC physical therapy practices, founder Nina A. Figueroa, PT, DPT, opened Base PT with one goal: to provide highly personalized care backed by the most current research and effective techniques. With a history playing NCAA Division I women's soccer, she has a keen understanding of performance-related injuries and rehabilitation. She has also excelled in both outpatient orthopedics and inpatient care focused on post-operative orthopedics and neurological disabilities. Further, having worked with doctors behind IMPACT, a concussion assessment tool used throughout professional, collegiate and high school level sports, she has participated in the study and assessments of a growing post concussion rehab program.Dr. Figueroa practices evidence-based treatments and stays current on all relevant clinical studies. This ensures she can handle each patient's unique physical circumstances and goals with the utmost care and respect.

Program Design

For those of you who already have training experience (or body knowledge), and still aren’t getting results, we can design a fitness program for you. After conducting your Body Space Assessment, we provide you with a detailed and customized plan that you can complete on your own time—and in your own space. You need to check in weekly by phone and/or Skype, so we can keep track of your progress, and ensure consistent gains.

health conditions. Whether your goals involve a trip to the altar, the
baby's room or the boardroom, Samantha is a registered dietitian who
can create an exclusive plan that works with your nutrition objectives
and lifestyle.

Hot Bird Running

Running can be an amazingly joyful and stress-relieving activity. It can also be tedious, risky, and injury-prone. That’s why Body Space is partnered with Hot Bird Running, an organization that a smart and healthy approach to running. This exceptional program is run by Jessica Green and Meghan Reynolds, U.S. Track and Field-certified running coaches.

While the actual runs will take place outside of Body Space, we have collaborated with Hot Bird to create an in-house program that focuses specifically on:

  • Form drills
  • Running mechanics
  • Functional mobility and stability
  • Injury prevention
