Welcome to Body Space Fitness, a NYC training facility like no other. In a newly renovated space near Union Square, we offer a range of fitness options from private training to sports conditioning, educational and innovative workshops to nutritional consulting. Our unique semi-private option allows your coaches to tap into training styles that will motivate and inspire your most attractive, capable, functional physique
Assessing Your Goals
During your first visit, you’ll receive an assessment. Are you looking to build lean body mass, and/or increase your strength? Do you want to perfect your posture, and/or clean up your diet? Would you like more flexibility, better cardiovascular health, or something else? All of these can be measured. We’ll find out where you are now…and then work to get you to the next league.
Our signature offering is semi-private training. We design the program you need based on your goals—and then train you alongside 1, 2, or 3 others.
- As with private training, every client does what’s right for him/her.
- But it’s more fun—because you’re not doing it alone.
- It’s also more affordable than one-on-one training, with a similar focus on your body, and your goals.
Semi-private training is a plus for everyone. Our clients thrive, and our coaches can cultivate fun and dynamic workouts that emphasize teamwork and cooperation.

Owner, Body Space Fitness, Coach
"Life has a purpose. Find yours, and live it." Kelvin Gary
Some people just need to move.
After graduate school (MBA, NYU-Stern; B.S. Engineering, University of Miami-Florida) and the corporate life, Kelvin Gary saw a better way for himself—and his eventual clients. So the positive-minded fitness guru traded in his dress slacks for gym shorts, and didn’t look back.
In creating Body Space Fitness, Kelvin addressed a population whose needs were not being met. They were stuck between private training and group fitness, wanting programs specific to their goals, but not necessarily being able to afford the one-on-one service. In 2012, Kelvin founded the first Body Space Fitness in New York City.

The more Joanna trained, the more she realized how intuitively the craft came to her, and she has been helping others transform their own lives ever since.
Joanna believes that training is a fun and effective way to stay healthy. She encourages her clients to prioritize their health and their happiness every day. Joanna’s energy is contagious, as is her laugh, and seeing her clients work hard with a smile on their faces brightens the entire gym.
